Construction of a new road link is being planned for Burkina Faso. The road will be built by the Chinese firm China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC). The 332.5km road connection will be of major importance for Burkina Faso, which is landlocked.
The road will connect capital Ouagadougou with the country’s second city, Bobo-Dioulasso. This new road connection will also form part of the route linking with neighbouring Côte d'Ivoire. It will provide an improved connection between Yamoussoukro, the capital of Côte d'Ivoire, and Ouagadougou.
Burkina Faso’s economy will benefit from a much-needed boost with the completion of this road link. The road will help improve transport for this area of West Africa.
